Returning to the Lakes
Eagle-eyed
visitors will have noticed that Coming
to the Lakes has been missing someone for a while. The
“Paleo-Indian” figure was removed so museum staff could
attempt to make necessary repairs. The iconic figure was built
by Oscar Freuh in 1938 as a WPA (Works Progress Administration)
project and has been around as long as there has been a Muskegon
County Museum. Unfortunately the damage to the original was so
severe that staff agreed he could not be put back out on
display. Muskegon Images Frank Dulach,
survivor of the sinking of the Waukesha. MEET THE BOARD
